How to buy from Amazon and ship to Zimbabwe

Amazon is the easiest place to buy almost anything, but many items and sellers will not deliver to Zimbabwe, and the ones that do can be slow or expensive. The reliable way around it is to ship to a US address and have the parcel flown to Harare.

This guide walks through exactly how that works with Liyanda: where to send your order, what shipping costs, how long it takes, and what to expect at collection.

Can you order directly from Amazon to Zimbabwe?

Sometimes. Amazon lets you set a Zimbabwe address and will then show only the items it is willing to send there. For many products, especially electronics, the item is marked as not available for delivery to your location, or the seller does not ship internationally.

Even when direct delivery is offered, shipping can be costly and there is little control over where your parcel is once it leaves the US. A US forwarding address avoids the “this item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location” problem entirely, because the order is simply a normal US delivery.

The 6 steps with Liyanda

  1. 1Shop on the US website with your own card and choose Standard (or any) shipping to our Maryland address.
  2. 2Use your full name as the recipient and “C/O Liyanda Shipping” on the second line, so we know the parcel is yours.
  3. 3Message us your full name and what you ordered as soon as you check out. We log it and send you an order reference.
  4. 4Your parcel arrives at our Maryland warehouse, where we check it, photograph it and weigh it.
  5. 5We tell you before the shipment leaves the USA. Shipments fly roughly every two weeks.
  6. 6Collect at our Harare airport warehouse once it clears customs. Track every step on liyanda.com/tracking.

Your Amazon delivery address should look like this:

LineWhat to enter
NameYour full name (exactly as on your order)
Address line 1C/O Liyanda Shipping
Address line 2101 Tiger Way
City / State / ZIPBoonsboro, MD 21713
CountryUnited States

Always message us your full name and your order details right after you buy. Parcels that arrive without a matching order are harder to identify and can hold up your shipment.

How long does it take?

  • Amazon to our Maryland warehouse: depends on the seller, usually a few days.
  • Shipments leave the USA about every two weeks. Dates are posted in our WhatsApp group.
  • In transit to Zimbabwe: 7–14 business days from the day the shipment leaves the USA.
  • Customs clearance in Harare: usually 2–3 days if the paperwork is in order.

Which Amazon items are a problem?

Most things ship fine. The categories we cannot send are perfumes (allowed only with special packaging for +$5), adult toys, drones, flammable liquids, aerosols, alcohol and firearms. Items with lithium batteries (phones, laptops, earbuds, tablets) are fine, but they carry an airline surcharge that we confirm in your quote. Prescription medication cannot be shipped.

If you are not sure whether an item can travel, ask us before you buy. It is much easier than finding out afterwards.

What about paying for Amazon from Zimbabwe?

You pay Amazon yourself with your own card, so you stay in control of the purchase. If you cannot pay on US websites at all, we offer a Buy-For-Me service for a 10% fee on the item total. Read more in our guide to paying for US online shopping from Zimbabwe.
